Leading business newspaper Vedomosti published its international annual Best Lawyers 2014 rankings. According to their findings, EPAM remains an absolute leader when it comes to ratings in Russia: a record number of the Firm’s lawyers have been recommended for all key practice areas – ahead of other market participants.
Thus, Best Lawyers recommends 41 lawyers from the Firm’s Moscow and St. Petersburg Offices, with a total of 110 references and recommendations for various areas of law. Besides, three of the Firm’s representatives have been recognized as lawyers of the year in Arbitration and Mediation, Real Estate Law and Investment. Dmitry Afanasiev, the member of the Partners' Committee has been ranked in seven specialties, including Competition/Antitrust Law, Investment, Government Practice, International Arbitration, as well as Corporate Law and Mergers & Acquisitions.
For Competition/Antitrust Law, Best Lawyers recommends Head of the Practice Natalia Korosteleva, Counsel Anna Numerova, Senior Associates Evgeny Bolshakov, Alexey Rodionov and Elena Agaeva.
The Firm remains dominant in the market in dispute resolution, which is confirmed by numerous recommendations. For Arbitration and Mediation the guide mentions Partners Evgeny Raschevsky, Sergey Kovalev, Dmitry Dyakin, Dmitry Stepanov, as well as Counsel Alexander Kuznetsov and Senior Associate Alexander Vaneev. Ilya Nikiforov, the Firm’s Managing Partner, has been honored as the Lawyer of the Year in this area.
For International Arbitration the guide recommends Ilya Nikiforov, Partners Dmitry Dyakin, Evgeny Raschevsky, Dmitry Stepanov and Robin Wittering who has been ranked for the first time.

Senior Associates Alexander Vaneev, Alexey Rodionov and Alexey Rizhkin, Deputy Head of the Tax Practice Mark Rovinskiy, Counsel Igor Serebryakov and Ilya Tur have also been listed in this area.
For Insolvency and Reorganization Law the guide recommends Partners Sergey Kovalev and Arkady Krasnikhin, Counsel Ilya Tur and Senior Associate Vladimir Pestrikov.
In Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Law Best Lawyers mentions Partners Dmitry Stepanov, Natalya Korosteleva and Arkady Krasnikhin. Partner Robin Wittering and Partner Dmitry Glazounov who has recently joined the Firm have been listed for the first time. In St. Petersburg the guide mentions the Firm’s Managing Partner Ilya Nikiforov, Counsel Vsevolod Baibak and Senior Associate Irina Skidan. Elena Agaeva has been recommended both for Corporate Law and Corporate Governance & Compliance Practice.
In Banking and Finance Law Best Lawyers lists Counsel Vsevolod Baibak and Senior Associates Roman Malovitsky and Irina Skidan. Irina has also been recommended for Private Equity Law. Besides, Irina and Vsevolod have been mentioned in Capital Markets.

In Project Finance and Development Practice Best Lawyers mentions Ilya Nikiforov and Irina Skidan who has also been listed in Private Funds.
In Investment Best Lawyers particularly mentions the Firm’s Managing Partner Ilya Nikiforov, Partners Mikhail Kazantsev and Arkady Krasnikhin, Senior Associates Roman Malovitsky and Sergey Strembelev. Partner Dmitry Dyakin has been honored as the Lawyer of the Year in the area.
For Criminal Defense the guide recommends Partner Victoria Burkovskaya for the first time, as well as Ilya Nikiforov.
