For over 15 years, Pavel has been specialising in intellectual property rights protection and related transactional support, personal data regulation, as well as in the IT, media and telecommunications sectors. As a registered patent attorney, Pavel also represents clients in relations with Rospatent.

Pavel has advised and represented the interests of such organisations as Rusagro, Samolet Group, Conde Nast Russia, Bayer, Formula One, Orange, CTC Media, Microsoft, Sony Music Entertainment, American Railcars Industries and others in numerous IP matters and data protection.

Pavel is a recognised expert in IT and data protection areas. Being a co-founder of the Russian IT Lawyers Discussion Club, he has been advising software and hardware developers and suppliers, as well as system integrators and e-commerce companies. He also consulted pharmaceutical, oil and gas, and trading companies, manufacturers of consumer goods and other professional services firms on privacy issues.

His previous experience includes working for over 7 years as a head of Russian IP/IT, Media and Telecommunications Practice at a Russian law firm and for 2 years at Rospatent.

Pavel holds a Law degree from the Higher School of Economics (HSE) and a PhD in Law from the Russian State Institute of Intellectual Property. He completed several internship programs: the SABIT’s Business Internship Program “Intellectual Property Rights” in the USA, and a four-month internship at the New York office of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP (a leading US litigation law firm) in 2010 and 2011, respectively.

Pavel is a Deputy Chairperson of the Association of European Businesses (AEB) Intellectual Property Committee, Deputy Chairman of the ICC Russia Commission on Intellectual Property and an arbitrator of the Board for intellectual property disputes of the Arbitration Centre at the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP).

He has been admitted to the Moscow Bar Association.
