15 October 2008 - The International Court of Justice (ICJ), the principal judicial organ of the United Nations, today issued an Order for provisional measures in a case filed by Georgia for the application of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners, together with a group of prominent European lawyers, advised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in these proceedings.

St.Petersburg - Moscow, 30 June 08 - The Head of the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), Mr. Igor Artemyev, addressing the delegates of the third CIS Local Counsel Forum, has voiced the suggestion to create an independent association of experts under the Intergovernmental Counsel on Antimonopoly Policy (ICAP). Leaders of the CIS legal community welcome the suggestion and are ready to offer their ideas for the realisation of the initiative set out by the Head of the Russian Antimonopoly Service.

Third CIS Local Counsel Forum was launched today in Saint-Petersburg. For the first time after the collapse of the Soviet Union, more than 200 heads of leading national law firms from the CIS and other countries gathered together on the Russian soil.
