Chambers Global has published the results of its global legal market research praising many of the Firm practices yet again.
The Firm’s CIS Dispute Resolution Practice - the largest in the CIS - traditionally tops the rankings in Band 1. In this area of law, the directory ranks Chairman Dimitry Afanasiev as Eminent Practitioner and notes the praise of clients which includes “he thinks very strategically”, “he knows how to move issues”. Partner and Co-Head of the Litigation Practice, Valery Eremenko, also received high praise for “his exceptional knowledge of the judges' way of thinking” and extensive experience in representing both Russian and international clients in complex disputes.
Dmitry Dyakin, Partner and Co-Head of Litigation Practice, is well regarded for “his wide-ranging expertise covering international arbitrations, investment disputes and shareholder conflicts”.
Managing Partner of the Firm Ilya Nikiforov is named Eminent Practitioner in International Dispute Resolution. In turn, Partner and Head of International Arbitration and Litigation Practice Evgeny Raschevsky, who also handles disputes tried by public courts outside Russia, has been praised for being “technically very well versed”.
Partner Denis Arkhipov is highlighted for his courtroom skills as a “good orator” and for his ability to “present the matter in a very clear and simple way”.
Chambers Global 2019 also highly regards the Firm for its work in M&A and Corporate Law.
Practice Head Arkady Krasnikhin, who is qualified to practice law in both the US and Russia, is praised for his pragmatic approach with clients highlighting that he “can find a right path forward in a complex situation”.
UK-qualified Partner Robin Wittering, Head of English Law Team, is well-regarded for his in-depth understanding of English law and keen market insight.
Counsel and Head of Intellectual Property Practice at the Firm Pavel Sadovsky, is singled out for his expertise and client-oriented approach, clients note “his fresh ideas accompanied by deep practical skills”.
Ilona Zekely is recognised as an expert in both Austrian and German laws. In Ukraine, the Firm is commended for its stellar Corporate and M&A team, and its Managing Partner of the Kyiv Office, Oksana Ilchenko, who has been ranked personally as one of the best lawyers on the market.
