EPAM Experts to Act as Arbitrators for Mozolin Student Competition

On 2 December 2017, Moscow will host the closing stage of a student competition in corporate arbitration. The competition named after Viktor Mozolin, an outstanding Russian lawyer and researcher who authored the first US corporate law research in Russian. It has been organised by the Arbitration Centre of the Institute of Modern Arbitration. Experts from the Firm – Partner Dmitry Stepanov, Counsel Tatyana Neveeva, Senior Associate Tatyana Boyko and Associate Olga Kuprenkova – will act as arbitrators during the closing stage of the competition.

The competing teams are to address a number of topical issues related to corporate and procedural law:

  • the invalidity of transactions concluded against company’s interests
  • CEO’s responsibility for acts which conflict with interests of the company
  • injunctive relief in corporate disputes
  • the incorporation of an arbitration clause in company articles of association and its individual scope of application
  • the enforceability of arbitration clauses in light of their arbitrability since 01 February 2017 

Students who were successful at the written stage will compete in the oral rounds on 2 December 2017. Among those who will judge the shortlisted oral presentations are leading corporate and arbitration experts, including representatives from the Firm.
