EPAM Maintains High Rankings in Chambers Global 2020

Chambers Global has released the results of its annual review of the world legal market; once again the Firm’s attorneys secure a dominating position.

The Firm’s Litigation Practice, which is the largest in Russia, traditionally tops the ratings. This year, Chambers Global singled out three key experts in the area: “towering figure on the market” Dimitry Afanasiev (Eminent Practitioner), Partner Co-heading Litigation Practice Valery Eremenko and Partner Denis Arkhipov. With reference to what clients say, the rankings highly appreciate the professionalism of an “extremely good litigator” Valery Eremenko, who is “very efficient” and “can convince”. Clients refer to Denis Arkhipov as an expert, who would “go through the details” and “can give the risk assessment”.

For international dispute resolution, the ratings note Managing Partner Ilya Nikiforov (Eminent Practitioner) and Partner heading International Arbitration and Litigation Practice Evgeny Raschevsky. Ilya Nikiforov, who is known for his international arbitration experience, is said to be “like the tsar of the arbitration world”, who often acts as an arbitrator. Evgeny Raschevsky, whose expertise covers international arbitration and cross-border litigations, is praised for “his litigation strength”, “self-composed” and “fast in his thinking”.

For M&A and corporate law, the directory notes three partners of the Firm: Dmitry Afanasiev (Eminent Practitioner), Head of M&A and Corporate Practice Arkady Krasnikhin and Head of English Law. It is noted that Dimitry Afanasiev has been providing strategic assistance to international and Russian clients engaged in dealings and joint ventures, as well as in cases of corporate restructuring. Clients appreciate Arkady Krasnikhin as “he takes your needs into account. he's very prompt and responsive”. Arkady’s particular advantage is that he is qualified to practice US law. At his end, Robin Wittering provides “UK-qualified law support and insight to blue-chip Russian corporates”.

The ratings appreciate the expertise of Pavel Sadovsky, Head of Intellectual Property and TMT Practice at the Firm. Clients appreciate him for “his in-depth knowledge and responsiveness,” he is “easy to talk to” and can “can create a very nice atmosphere when handling complex issues”.

Managing Partner of the Firm in Ukraine Oksana Ilchenko is recommended for corporate law and in view of her efforts in a variety of matters, including M&A and corporate restructuring.

In Belarus, the Firm has been recommended for all reviewed areas of law. Managing Partner of the Minsk Office Denis Turovets tops corporate and commercial law rankings and is noted for dispute resolution. Experts recommend Partner Anna Rusetskaya for corporate and commercial laws. It is emphasized that Denis Turovets enjoys a robust reputation on the Belarusian market, where he is engaged in “advising on high-value M&A transactions”, and noted that he is a “well-reputed practitioner often advising domestic and international clients on corporate, investment and IP-related disputes.” Clients refer to him as “a truly a great orator.” who “promptly reacts if the situation changes”. Anna Rusetskaya “regularly assists international clients with a range of complex corporate and commercial matters as well as transactions”.
