From 15 to 20 August 2011 Frankfurt am Main hosted the XXV World Congress of Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (IVR). The Congress attracted leading representatives of the contemporary legal science and legal practitioners from over 50 countries.
Dimitry Afanasiev, Chairman at EPAM, has been appointed as a Vice-Chair to the International Law Practice Management Forum of the ABA Section of International Law (ABA International). His term runs for a year from 10 August 2011.
Today the Ministry of Economic Development publicly discussed draft amendments to the Civil Code that it has prepared together with the International Financial Center task force.
On 6-8 July 2011 a Russian delegation headed by Russian Vice-Minister for Industry and Trade V.Y. Salamatov made a working visit to the United States. Andrey Porfiriev, senior lawyer at EPAM, joined the official visit as part of the Russian delegation.

Today, the International Business Meeting “Cement. Concrete. Dry Mix”, which brought together over 150 professionals, has come to its close in St. Petersburg. The event was organized by ALIT-Inform, an International Analytical Review. Both Viktor Dumler and Irina Stepanova took part in the meeting.

The Forum’s agenda was focused on topical issues related to the legal and practical aspects of investing into the CIS region. The “Airports of regional and local airlines” conference took place in St Petersburg on 2 - 5 June as part of the business program conducted at the INTERAEROCOM-2011 exhibition. The conference was organized by Lenexpo OJSC with support from the Federal Agency for Air Transport, St Petersburg Government, and the Chamber of Trade and Industry of the Russian Federation. The book Transactions with Bills of Exchange is based on the Master’s Degree thesis of the author and is dedicated to a controversial issue of how a transaction with a promissory note and a principal transaction influence each other.
