EPAM Strengthens Its International Team

EPAM has strengthened its international deals and disputes practice with the hire of Ilya Kuznetsov, a dual-qualified Russian advocate and solicitor of England & Wales.

Ilya specializes in corporate and cross border deals. He joins an English law team that is unique in the Moscow market and includes partners Robin Wittering, Evgeny Raschevsky and Michael Copeland, barrister Andrew Lomas, senior associates Konstantin Semyakin, and Ekaterina Rozenbaum, amongst others.  

With over 18 years of professional experience in Russia, the UK and Cyprus, Ilya advises on M&A transactions, joint ventures and venture capital investments.  He also advises on complex, unusual and contentious corporate matters.

Prior to joining EPAM, he worked with a number of leadings international law firms both in Moscow and London.  Ilya has an impressive track record of successful projects in the oil and gas industry, energy, mining, financial services, technology and innovation, media and telecommunications.

Ilya is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of Moscow State University. He is an arbitrator of the International Arbitration Centre of the Astana International Financial Centre (Kazakhstan). Commenting on returning to Russia, Ilya said:

“I started my career as a Russian lawyer.  Having worked for many years in Russia, I continued in the UK as a solicitor to gain new experience and respond to yet another professional challenge.  The combination of Russian and English law is mostly in demand in the Russian and CIS markets so joining EPAM – the largest law firm in that region – enables its clients to utilize my skills and international experience as part of the existing unique team and is a natural next step for me.  I am excited to have an opportunity to return and switch back in the Russian and CIS work.”
