EPAM hosts a business breakfast on Legislative Developments in Protection of Moscow’s Title to Land Plots

On April 1, 2014 the Moscow office of EPAM hosted the closing event in a series of business breakfasts on the current aspects of the legal regulation of urban development and land use in Moscow. Experts at the third business breakfast covered the legal status of the land plots accommodating unauthorised structures.

Andrey Vorobyev, Head of Real Estate and Construction at the Firm  made a welcome speech and briefly covered the steps taken to protect land plot titles.

Julia Filatkina, the Firm’s leading expert on land relations and urban development provided a detailed review of the Moscow legislation on protection of land plot titles. She gave a definition and outlined the main features of an unauthorised structure, and touched upon the responsibility for and prevention of unauthorised structures.

Julia Petropavlovskaya, Assistant Judge of the Supreme Commercial Court of the Russian Federation, made a review of the judicial practice to “legalise” real property, where she covered the sources of legal regulation of unauthorised structures, the ways to protect titles and the issues related to “legalisation” of new real estate items.

The breakfast was attended by delegates from the legal departments of the largest national and international companies.
