Sergey Pashkov spoke at the research and practice conference Forest Use in Mineral Reserves Extraction

The conference Forest Use in Mineral Reserves Extraction took place on 28 February -1 March in Moscow. The event was organized by MAXConference in association with the Federation Council Committee on Natural Resources and Environmental Protection. Sergey Pashkov, Master of Laws, Advocate at EPAM, delivered a speech in session on “Challenges in Constructing Infrastructure Properties on Forest Land and Developing Mineral Deposits in Protection and Inaccessible Forests and Forests Located at Specially Protected and Water Protection Areas”.

The research and practice conference brought together specialists from Russian oil & gas and mining companies, and representatives from federal and regional authorities to discuss the practice of forest land use in the developing and exploitation of mineral deposits and to make proposals for drafting recommendations on improving the Forest Code.

Among the conference speakers were representatives of the Federation Council Committee on Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Federal Forestry Agency, forestry departments of key mineral production regions, along with representatives of Russian and foreign mining and oil & gas companies.

Sergey Pashkov spoke on the “Placement and Construction of Linear Facilities for Subsoil Use", where he touched on the problems in registering the right to land and forest plots for survey works and constructing communication lines, power transmission lines, pipelines and roads for developing mineral deposits. He also spoke about the draft federal law on improving the legal regulation of easements.
