Nikita Gurin Spoke at the 2nd International Scientific Practical Conference ‘Private Law: Issues and Development Trends’

On October 29, 2010, Nikita Gurin, lawyer at EPAM delivered a speech on the subject of ‘Business Entity’s Activities as a Criterion for Categorising it into a Certain Group’ at the 2nd Scientific Practical Conference ‘Private Law: Issues and Development Trends’ held on October 28-29, 2010 at the Kutafin Moscow State Law Academy.

The conference was organised by ZAKONNOST’ and CIVILIST, leading scientific publications, and Russia’s top law universities such as Kutafin Moscow State Law Academy, Volgograd State University and Samara State University.

The key topics discussed were:

1. Private law: subject and sources of regulation
2. An individual, protection of his/her rights and interests by the private law
3. Corporate law and corporate governance
4. Private law and legal training
5. Society, law and economy

Nikita Gurin delivered a speech at the ‘Corporate Law. Corporate governance’ session and touched upon issues arising in discussing the matters of establishing control within a group, the relation between such categories as affiliates, related parties and a group, and suggested ways to resolve them.
