Igor Sсhikow presented at Law in Russia Investment Summit in Berlin

Igor Schikow, head of tax practice at EPAM participated as a keynote speaker at the Law in Russia investment summit, held in Berlin on 5 October 2010.

The event was attended by representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), senior officials from the Ministry for Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), lawyers, attorneys-at-law, entrepreneurs and heads of departments who have business ties with the Russian Federation or plan to establish them.

Speakers from leading law firms and business consultancy agencies discussed recent changes in general and legal conditions for doing business in Russia, and report on effective business strategies.

Igor Schikow participated at the closing session and discussed the Innograd Innovation Project in Skolkovo, the challenges and opportunities it presents, tax aspects and actual terms of project’s financing.

Notes:

Innograd Innovation Project in Skolkovo is a part of the modernisation agenda of the government of Russian Federation, with the aim to foster a new knowledge-based economy. The aim of the project, unveiled by President Dmitry Medvedev in February 2010, is to establish the Skolkovo region near Moscow as the hub for high-technology research and business in Russia.
