Dimitry Afanasiev took part in the 10th Annual Russian Economic Forum in London. Member of the Partners' Committee of EPAM spoke at the session “Financial Development Institutes: Realistic Catalyst for Russian Economic Growth?”

Effective development institutions are vital for fostering economic development. The process of creating analogous institutions in Russia has just begun. In 2006, the Russian Venture Company and the State Investment Fund were established. Today, the Russian Government is planning to establish a new development bank.

What is the key to creating such financial institutions? How can they become workable and transparent, contributing to the diversification and rapid growth of the Russian economy? And what can be done to achieve effective interaction between Russian and foreign financial development institutions?

These and other important issues were addressed at the roundtable discussion “Financial Development Institutes: Realistic Catalyst for Russian Economic Growth?” held in cooperation with Russian Public Organisation ‘Delovaya Rossiya’ at the 10th Annual Russian Economic Forum in London.

Dimitry Afanasiev was among experts at the roundtable and spoke on “Mobilizing National Resources to Modernize National Economy”.
