Mark Rovinsky spoke at the 5th Annual Global Residence & Citizenship Conference

The 5th Annual Global Residence & Citizenship Conference was held in London on November 16th -18th, 2011. Mark Rovinsky, Deputy Head of Tax Practice at EPAM, attended the event.

This is the only annual conference on the market purely focused on global residence and citizenship issues. This year discussion mainly covered jurisdictional analysis of the Caribbean, US, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Russia, Malta and the UK.

Mark Rovinsky, Deputy Head of Tax Practice at EPAM, delivered a report on Where Russian Wealth Moves and also participated in the panel The Use of Trusts and Alternative Structures for Russian HNWIs. This session looked at some of the most interesting options for non-EU citizens in Europe and tackled different case studies on residence and citizenship within the EU, including:

  • Double tax treaty structuring 
  • Permanent establishment and central management and control 
  • Alternative structures: limited partnerships and special trusts 
  • Structuring for personal assets.
