Ilya Nikiforov to speak at annual ICC Russia conference “Russia as a Place for Dispute Resolution: Sanctions and Their Impact on Contractual Obligations”

On 10 December 2014, Moscow will host the annual conference “Russia as a Place for Dispute Resolution: Sanctions and Their Impact on Contractual Obligations”, organized by ICC Russia in cooperation with the ICC International Court of Arbitration and the Russian Arbitration Association (RAA). Ilya Nikiforov, Managing Partner at EPAM, will chair the first plenary session.

Economic sanctions have been a topic of debate within the international community for many years and the ICC, as an organization working to support the development of international business, has built up a unique store of experience on this issue.

The topics for discussion at the conference are as follows:

  • Sanctions and Dispute Resolution
  • Implementation of Sanctions
  • Impact of Sanctions on Business: Urgent Issues and Recommendations

The conference will bring together members of the Russian legal community, government representatives, foreign experts, and corporate counsel.

Ilya Nikiforov will chair the first plenary session, entitled “International Sanctions at a Glance”, during which the following questions are expected to be discussed:

    • Penalties for breaching OSCE regulations
