Andrey Porfiriev to speak at workshop on “International and Russian practices and principles for pro bono work”

On June 06, 2014 Moscow will host workshop on “International and Russian practices and principles for pro bono work”. Andrey Porfiriev, Partner and Head of Legislation and Public Policy Practice at EPAM, to speak at the event.

The workshop is organized by the European Union (EU) and the Council of Europe (CoE) in cooperation with the Business Ombudsman’s Office in the Russian Federation and other stakeholder institutions aims to facilitate and contribute to the implementation of mechanisms to prevent corrupt practices affecting the business sector in the Russian Federation as a part of the joint project on the “Protection of the Entrepreneurs Rights in the Russian Federation from Corrupt Practices” (PRECOP RF).

The aim of the workshop is to:

  • Discuss the findings of the comparative analysis of international and Russian practices and principles for pro bono work, including issues of incentives, as well as professional standards;
  • Discuss the “Proposals for improvement of pro bono services of lawyers and legal associations and professional standards in the Russian Federation; and
  • Prepare a set of recommendations for improvement of pro bono services of lawyers and legal associations and professional standards in the Russian Federation.

Andrey Porfiriev will speak on problems in pro-bono regulation in Russia.
