Global Competition Review 2012 recommends EPAM among the best Russia's competition practices

Global Competition Review (GCR), the world's leading antitrust and competition law journal and news service, has listed EPAM among the best law firms in Russia in the area of competition law.

Apart from this, the Firm's Competition Law practice led by Partner Natalya Korosteleva has been named the "largest of this kind in the market".

According to the annual report of GCR 2012, the practice spans the full range of antitrust matters, from merger control work to defending against the actions of the FAS and other regional authorities. The Firm has also assisted in the drafting of antimonopoly regulations, and their promotion to the FAS and the government of Russia.

Over the past year, the Firm "has been engaged by numerous high-profile clients involved in complex antitrust matter". EPA&P advised Italian pasta maker De Cecco in the sale and purchase transaction of controlling stakes of pasta production facilities and helped guide Russian pharmaceutical company Antiviral in a trademark dispute against Natur Produkt International in which FAS eventually brought charges. National Media group is another client, as the firm advised in its plan to combine the assets of its multiple media segments.

The success of the practice may be attributed to its participation in major matters in the market, as well as to its extensive lawmaking experience, particularly, as part of expert councils at the Russian FAS and not-for-profit partnerships promoting competition in Russia and the CIS. EPA&P’s Competition Practice is highly recommended by Chambers Europe, Who’s Who Legal: CIS, PLC Which Lawyer and Best Lawyers, while GCR top-ranks it for many years in raw.
