The Moscow office of EPAM hosts a series of seminars on cross-border disputes

On March 13 and April 3, 2014, the Moscow Office of EPAM hosted seminars on extensive litigations held in a number of jurisdictions in parallel. At the seminars the Russian and foreign experts covered the main aspects of the development and implementation of strategy and tactics for such litigations and reviewed the most interesting cases .

Dmitry Dyakin, Litigation Partner at EPAM , opened the seminars giving a brief overview of the recent trends in cross-border disputes.

Tatyana Neveeva and Vladimir Pestrikov, the Firm’s Senior Associates, in their report addressed a number of precedent-setting cases that were tried by courts of different jurisdictions and reviewed the recent positions of the Russian courts with regard to such disputes.

Representatives of foreign legal firms, Justin Michaelson, Partner at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP (London), and Stavros Pavlou, Managing Partner at Patrikios Pavlou & Associates LLC (Cyprus), addressed the UK and Cyprus courts’ assistance in litigations in Russia, as well as the efficient use of procedural mechanisms in these jurisdictions.

Alexander Vaneev, the Firm’s Senior Litigation Associate, covered the current practice of enforcing the Russian judgments abroad and foreign court’s decisions in Russia. In his report he reviewed the recent trends in the field as demonstrated by several high-profile cases and his personal experience.

The seminars were attended by representatives of the largest Russian and foreign companies.
