EPAM Successfully Defends Interests of Karel Hadek Trademark

Attorneys-at-Law within the Litigation Practice of the Firm’s St. Petersburg office successfully defended the Karel Hadek trademark at the IPR Court of the Russian Federation. The brand is a producer of high quality aromatherapy products.

The subject of the legal proceedings was the unlawful use of the Karel Hadek trademark and the sale of goods under this trademark by a third party within the territory of the Russian Federation. Proceedings were complicated by the requirement to submit evidence proving the sale of goods and their receipt by certain individuals through electronic payment systems.

During the court proceedings, the Firm’s Attorneys-at-Law succeeded in proving the illegality of the litigant’s actions, and secured compensation for the client for the violation of their trademark rights. On 17 February 2015 the IPR Court of the Russian Federation upheld the rulings in the case without amendments.

Representing the client’s interests in the case were Senior Associate of the Litigation Practice of the Firm’s St. Petersburg office Sergey Korolyov and Associate Maya Chokoraya.
