EPAMsponsored the ‘Antitrust Regulation in Russia’ Annual Conference

Grigory Chernyshov, Partner at EPAM, and Natalia Korosteleva, Senior Lawyer participated at the second annual conference on Antitrust Regulation in Russia held in Moscow on 22 October 2010.

The subject of Antitrust regulation issues are very current and important for the business community of Russia. The disputes with antimonopoly authorities are closely followed by media, whilst what is known as the ‘third antimonopoly legislative package’ proposed for adoption, caused lively discussion within the professional community. The wide scope of the antimonopoly legislation regulation affects nearly all aspects of business operations, from pricing and profitability matters to regulation of relations with the suppliers, dealers and competitors.

The Conference was attended by representatives of legal, executive and judicial authorities, as well as leading lawyers and economists to discuss the current state of the antitrust policy and compliance of the antitrust law with best global practices. The main topics of the conference were the results of application of ‘second antimonopoly legislation package’ and planned legislative amendments, review of the most high-profile antimonopoly cases and court case history.

Natalia Korosteleva, delivered a speech on the subject of ‘Practical Analysis of Dominant Position Abuse Types’ as part of the ‘Main Antitrust Regulation Events of 2010’ session, whilst Grigory Chernyshov delivered a speech on the subject of ‘Antitrust Law Violation as a Basis for Civil Lawsuits’ as part of the Court Case History Review session.
