The ceremony for the Best Russian Law Departments Awards, decided through research by Corporate Lawyer magazine took place today in Moscow. The event, supported by law offices EPAM, was attended by more than 250 participants: heads of the law departments nominated, members of the Expert Committee and special guests, including partners of leading Russian and international law firms, and media representatives.

The Best Russian Law Departments Awards, held this year for the second time, can reasonably be regarded as the key event of the year for corporate lawyers. The winners are selected on a “best-choosing-the-best” basis: the nominees’ work is appraised by a specially created Expert Council, which includes the winners of the previous year’s awards and the heads of leading Russian law firms. EPAM were represented on the Expert Council by Dmitry Afanasiev, member of the Partners’ Committee of the firm.

This year more than 65 law departments of major Russian and foreign companies working in the Russian market competed for the awards. The ceremony announced the winners of sixteen categories including Investment Banks, Commercial Banks, Financial Corporations, Machine Manufacturing, Metallurgy, Oil and Oil-and-gas Industry etc.
