Andrey Mashkovtsev, a lawyer at EPAM attended the Russian M&A Congress in Moscow on 18 November 2010.
The Congress focused on current issues and development of the Russian M&A market. The participants discussed basic approaches to M&A - as a strategic tool for business development and as a method of corporate restructuring. In particular, the focus was on the involvement of government and state-run companies/banks in the corporate control market.
The significant part of the event was dedicated to an in-depth review of recent amendments in corporate legislation. The participants had the opportunity to analyse some of the deals in Russia, whilst the leading market players shared their experience in structuring deals, specifics of business valuation and due diligence exercise and discussed other current economic issues.
Andrey Mashkovtsev presented on the subject of “Inconspicuous Investment Problems in Connection with Strategic Company Investment Law”.
