EPAM defends the employee interests of ZAO Alcoa Metallurg Rus in criminal proceedings

The attorneys of the White Collar Crime Practice at EPAM have successfully defended the interests of the employees of ZAO Alcoa Metallurg Rus, the Russian subsidiary of Alcoa, the world’s largest aluminum producer, terminating a criminal prosecution.

The Yuzhnaya Operational Customs Office initiated a number of criminal proceedings against the employees of Alcoa Metallurg Rus for an offence under Article 189(3) of the Russian Criminal Code in view of the circumstances related to international trade with foreign companies. The criminal cases were investigated by the Investigations Department of the Federal Security Service Directorate of Russia for Rostov Region.

The attorneys of the White Collar Crime Practice at EPAM achieved a successful result for the client, with the prosecution being terminated on the fact that it was found to be groundless.
