Dimitry Afanasiev to speak at the IBA Annual Conference
Dimitry Afanasiev, member of the Partners' Committee at EPAM, will deliver a speech on the subject of "Successful models for cross-border legal practice - The economics of law firms after the recession" at the International Bar Association (IBA) Annual Conference, which will be held in Dubai from 30th October - 4th November 2011.
During the session the participants will discuss various subjects, including the market for legal services and its recovery after the recession, which has significantly increased the competition, forcing the law firms to reconsider their strategies.
The event will provide a platform to discuss and find answers to number of questions such as:
- what model should law firms pursue further and how could multinational and regional/national firms benefit from each other and work together constructively;
- how can a regional/national firm achieve the best business relationship with a multinational one and how to overcome the cultural differences between the firms working for the same client or opposing clients in different jurisdictions and remain “friends”;
- how can smaller firms succeed in a panel pitch process organized by larger firms on behalf of a multinational client.
