EPAM Law made the top 10 M&A legal consultants on deals involving Russian companies in 2006 according to the M&A-Intelligence analytical group of the “Mergers and Acquisitions” magazine

The M&A-Intelligence analytical group of the “Mergers and Acquisitions” magazine has issued a rating of the leading M&A legal consultants on deals involving Russian companies of the year 2006. First time on the rating, a Russian firm EPAM went straight to the rating’s second place.

According to the rating’s authors, the key factor in distributing places was the biggest transaction of 2006 – a Russian Aluminium-SUAL-Glencore merger. The leader by the total value of transactions in 2006 is the international law firm Linklaters, which advised on the deal.

The honorable second place is with this year’s newcomer EPAM, who also participated in the merger. As noted by the magazine, this is the first Russian law firm to ever make the rating.

EPAM with their impressive debut is followed by world’s major M&A consultants: Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, Baker & McKenzie – CIS, Hogan & Hartson LLP, Lovells, Salans, and CMS Cameron McKenna.

Earlier this year EPAM were included in the rating of M&A legal advisors prepared by an independent Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) intelligence service The Mergermarket Group.
