Natalia Checheneva specialises in providing legal assistance to Russian and international companies on a wide range of foreign trade matters.
Her recent highlights include:
- Drafting and reviewing of contracts, including those related to foreign trade (distribution contracts, supply contracts, sea shipping contracts, service agreements, foreign manufacturing agreements, and cost settlement agreements).
- Advising clients on customs value, classification of goods, customs clearance, foreign exchange laws, and export control.
- Promoting clients’ interests in resolving matters related to technical regulation, including the obtainment of permits, licenses, and certificates.
- Representing and advocating for clients in disputes with governmental authorities during the inspections, the Eurasian Economic Commission, and individuals.
- Developing strategies for organizing import and export of goods subject to customs laws and existing restrictions.
- Acting before the Eurasian Economic Commission in the course of investigations related to general competition violations in cross-border markets.
Prior to joining the Firm, Natalia spent 10 years with the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union where she was engaged in drafting judgments on various matters including customs and technical regulations, and competition protection in cross-border markets.
She graduated from the Faculty of Law of St. Petersburg State University of Economics and earned her PhD in Law from Moscow State Law University. She is an assistant professor at the Administrative and Financial Law Department of the Faculty of Law at St. Petersburg State University.
Natalia is admitted to the Leningrad Oblast Bar.
She is fluent in English.
