The International Fraud & Litigation Conference organized by Lexis Nexis is taking place in London this week. Ilya Nikiforov, Managing Partner at EPAM St Petersburg Law Offices, today presented a report entitled Made in the Ex-USSR: Unwinding Eastern Block Scams and Schemes. He talked about contemporary protection methods against fraud during company liquidation, as well as recent amendments in the Russian law relating to bankruptcy and insolvency issues.
The conference has provided an opportunity for leading experts in the field of dispute resolution to discuss issues related to financial fraud, challenges in finding debtors’ assets and enforcing judgments, and arbitral awards in foreign jurisdictions. The conference audience was made up of judges and arbitrators, in-house lawyers, tax and legal advisors, finance and asset management experts.
