Andrey Porfiriev spoke at “Common Sense Economy”, a strategic session at Delovaya Rossia expert forum

Today the “Common Sense Economy” expert conference organized by Delovaya Rossia LLC was in Moscow. Andrey Porfiriev, senior lawyer at EPAM, attended the discussions as a co-chairman of the Centre for Public Procedures Business Against Corruption.

The conference was also attended by: Evgeny Yuriev, Advisor to the Russian President, Fuad Aleskerov, a Chair Head at the Economics Department of the Higher School of Economics, Vladimir Yuzhakov, Director of the Department for Administrative Reform at the Center for Strategic Research, Vitaliy Survillo and Nikolay Ostarkov, Vice-Presidents of Delovaya Rossia LLC.

Andrey Porfiriev spoke about the role of Russian professional legal advisors in preventing corruption in Russian companies. In his opinion, this role goes far beyond mere advice on US and UK anticorruption laws (for Russian companies doing business abroad or liaising with foreign customers):

“Legal support to corporations in adopting internal regulations aimed at preventing conflict of interest between the company management and customers, fostering an environment that is not conducive to the giving/receiving of bribes by company employees and bribing public officials, is of great significance.”
