Evgeny Raschevsky to Speak at ICC Russia Webinar “Dispute Resolution Clause in a Transnational Contract: What Shall Be Elaborated Today and How?”

On July 7, 2020, the Russian National Committee of the International Commercial Chamber- World Business Organization (ICC Russia) will host a webinar “Dispute Resolution Clause in a Transnational Contract: What Shall Be Elaborated Today and How?”. Evgeny Raschevsky, Partner, co-heading the International Arbitration Practice at EPAM, will participate in the event.

On June 19, the Federal Law “On Amending of the Russian Code of Arbitration Procedure for Protection of Individual and Corporate Rights in View of Sanctions Introduced by a Foreign State, a State Association and/or Union and/or State (Inter-State) Institution of a Foreign State or a State Association and/or Union” was adopted. It provides for an opportunity for Russian corporations and individuals on the sanctions lists to unilaterally put clauses providing for consideration of any disputes by Russian courts, into valid agreements.

Evgeny will cover what would be the effect of adoption of this law for Russian businesses, in his speech on “Choice of an Arbitration Centre and a Place of Dispute Resolution: What External Factors and Risks Have to be Taken into Account?” The report shall be followed by a discussion involving the representatives of leading Russian and global law firms.
