Denis Gavrilov Took Part in the OECD Global Competition Forum

On December 10, 2020, the OECD Global Competition Forum hosted a session entitled "Economic Analysis in Merger Research: a Quantitative Analysis". Denis Gavrilov, Counsel of the Competition Law Practice at EPAM, took part in the event.

During his speech, Denis Gavrilov focused on the key principles of market analysis in the framework of the antimonopoly authority's analysis of merger transactions. Additionally, the speaker also addressed

  • the principles of equal importance of retrospective and prospective assessment of the effects on competition
  • weighing the positive and negative consequences of a merger in order to make an informed decision
  • the importance in using a wide range of information sources which should be requested from the merger parties, as well as from third parties (competitors, consumers, etc.).
