EPAM Defends Interests of EWS Before Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area Commercial Court

A team from EPAM’ Litigation practice successfully represented the interests of EWS, an oilfield services company offering unique hydraulic fracturing technology, in a dispute against Ruspetro in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area Commercial Court. The dispute arose from a service contract to increase the production rate at oilfields in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area.

EWS filed a claim for the recovery of arrears and overdue interest in the amount of RUB 70m. Ruspetro made a counterclaim for the recovery of losses totalling more than RUB 500m. After eighteen months of proceedings, the Firm’s team persuaded the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area Commercial Court that EWS’s claim should be satisfied. On 20 December 2016, a six-hour hearing resulted in the approval of EWS’s claim, while the counterclaims were rejected.

The Client’s interests were represented by Senior Associate Dmitry Kaysin and Associate Stanislav Karandasov under the leadership of Partner Dmitry Dyakin.
