The EPAM Competition Law team successfully defended the global pharma corporation Novartis in a precedent-setting case over the breach of competition law by a distributor of Nativa, which had introduced a generic drug in violation of patent rights of the original drug formula.
On June 11, 2021 the Presidium of the FAS Russia published the Guidelines No. 19 "On the specifics of state antimonopoly control over economic concentration". The document was developed jointly with the Association of Antimonopoly Experts involving EPAM Competition Law Practice experts.

On March 5, 2021, the FAS approved a unique partnership agreement between the taxi aggregators Gett and Citimobil. Under its terms, Citimobil drivers will take on the Gett economy orders. This will enable Gett to use the new “aggregator for aggregators” model and focus on the corporate and premium markets.

On June 30, 2020, Haldia Petrochemicals Limited, the flagship company of The Chatterjee Group (TCG), and investment funds affiliated with Rhône Capital successfully completed the joint acquisition of Lummus Technology from McDermott International. Under the terms of the share and asset purchase agreement, Chatterjee and Rhône committed to acquiring Lummus from subsidiaries of McDermott as part of McDermott’s restructuring process.
In March 2020, the Finnish energy company Fortum finalized the purchase of a majority stake in the German company Uniper - representing a landmark deal for the energy industry. EPAM represented Fortum before the Governmental Commission for Foreign Investments and the FAS Russia.
The General Assembly of Association of Antitrust Experts (AAE) members was held on July 30, 2020. EPAM Counsels Denis Gavrilov and Maria Kobanenko were elected to the AAE General Council by a majority vote. Andrey Rego, Head of Regulatory Department at Mobile TeleSystems PJSC, was elected the Chairman of the AAE General Council. This is Maria’s debut appointment to the AAE General Council and the fourth one for Denis.
In September 2019, popular carpooling service BlaBlaCar announced its intention to purchase Russia’s largest online bus ticket aggregator Busfor. The Firm’s Competition Practice team managed to obtain clearance for this landmark deal from the FAS Russia by proving that it would not limit competition on the market for online bus ticket sales.
