Further, Igor Schikow (Tax Practice), Alexey Andrusenko and Andrey Mashkovtsev (M&A and Corporate Practice), Roman Malovitsky (Banking & Finance, Capital Markets Practice) and Andrey Bashirov (Legislation and Public Policy Practice) have been appointed as Counsel in Moscow. Viktoriya Podvorchanska (Pharmaceuticals and healthcare), Arsen Miliutin (Domestic Litigation) and Oleksandr Maydanyk (Tax Practice) have been appointed as Counsel in Kyiv.
Anna Numerova (Partner, Moscow) joined Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners as Counsel of Competition Practice in 2013. She has outstanding experience advising on a wide range of antitrust issues, including those related to M&A transactions and transfer of assets by large local and international companies in Russia and abroad. She also represents clients before the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) as well as in arbitration courts, advises on various commercial and corporate law issues and conducts legal due diligence. Anna chairs the General Council of the Non-Profit Partnership for Competition Support, she is a member of the Government Commission on Competition and Development of Small and Medium-sized Businesses, a member of the Advisory Board on Advertising of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia and of the Non-Profit Partnership “CIS Competition Support Association”. She was involved in the development of the "Fourth antimonopoly package". In 2015 Anna was awarded a Second-Class Medal of the Order of Merit for the Motherland. She also plays an active role in the steering committees of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the American Bar Association (ABA). Anna is an associate professor at the chair of the Federal Antimonopoly Service at the Higher School of Economics. She holds a Master’s degree in private law from Russia’s School of Private Law and an LL.M. in International Business and Economic Law from Georgetown University Law Center (USA).
Michael Copeland (Partner, London) is an English law qualified lawyer, advising on a wide range of M&A and corporate law issues. Michael relocated to Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners’ London office in 2015; previously he held the position of Counsel in Moscow, in the English law team led by Robin Wittering. Michael had been working in Russia for a total of 7 years since 2005. His previous experience includes work for an international law firm in London, Singapore and Moscow as well as a secondment with a major international oil company both in its London and Moscow offices. Michael graduated from the University of Nottingham (UK).
Igor Schikow (Counsel, Moscow) is the Head of Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners' Tax Practice in Moscow. He has fundamental experience in domestic and international tax law, which is based on a deep understanding of the theoretical law and excellent knowledge of the specifics in Russian law application. Igor focuses on complex tax projects that include a complex analysis of the issues, the organizational structures and the ultimate tax solution providing for appropriate remedies. Igor is also a preferred tax adviser for major German and Austrian DAX-listed industrial companies in connection with their investments in Russia. Igor graduated from the Law School of Academic Law University at the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow. He is a member of the Tax Advisors Chamber in Moscow, where he has been teaching a course on international tax law since 2008. Igor graduated from the MBA course in International Taxation at Freiburg University, Germany, where he also teaches a course on corporations’ taxation in Russia.
Alexey Andrusenko (Counsel, Moscow) acts on M&A and other corporate transactions, he boasts broad experience in supporting IPO and due diligence in preparation of public stock offerings on foreign exchanges. Alexey has broad experience in advising clients on acquisitions, mergers, corporate restructurings of Russian companies, joint ventures between Russian and foreign companies, development of most favorable mechanisms for participation in a company. Alexey graduated from the Law School of St. Petersburg State University.
Andrey Mashkovtsev (Counsel, Moscow) specializes in M&A, joint ventures, corporate restructuring, private equity, corporate management and corporate conflicts. He is also an expert in asset deals, competition control on concentration, foreign investments and commercial contracts control. Andrey plays a leading role in advising on large cross-border and domestic transactions. He has actively participated in more than 30 M&A transactions, including establishment of several joint ventures, advised on several transactions structured as asset deals, accompanied a number of significant commercial transactions. Andrey also participated in a number of major projects for financial restructuring. Andrey obtained a Law Degree with honours from Saint-Petersburg State University. He also completed a three-month educational programme at the International Law Institute (Washington DC, USA) and the Amsterdam Institute of Finance.
Roman Malovitsky (Counsel, Moscow) specialises in banking and finance law, M&A, joint ventures, general corporate law, corporate governance, foreign investments, obtaining transactions’ approvals from the antimonopoly authorities, and insolvency/restructuring. Roman also has experience in dispute resolution and serves as a judge in the Arbitration Court of the St. Petersburg Law Society. He held a number of in-house roles throughout his career, having started as an in-house counsel at Incombank in 1998. He joined Baltinvestbank as in-house counsel and then moved on to become its Head of Complaints and Claims Department. Roman also worked for a number of commercial real estate development companies. Roman graduated from the Law School of St. Petersburg State University.
Andrey Bashirov (Counsel, Moscow) specialises in government property management including the issues of privatisation and advises state corporations, defence enterprises and joint-stock companies with state-owned shares on operational activities. Andrey also specialises in insolvency procedures, including creditors’ and debtors’ interests defence and clients’ defence before arbitration courts. Andrey has experience in disputes over commercial real estate (including land plots), corporate disputes and business reputation defence of both legal entities and individuals. Before joining the Firm he worked in the Federal Agency for Industry (Rosprom) where he was Deputy Head of Assets Department, he joined that governmental institution from the Moscow City Property Department where he was a Leading Expert of the Central Territorial Agency. He graduated from the Law School of Russian State University for the Humanities.
Viktoriya Podvorchanska (Counsel, Kyiv) is a Head of Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare Practice of Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners Ukraine. Viktoriya advises companies in healthcare and pharmaceutical sector on their operations in Ukraine, with particular focus on regulatory matters. This includes advice on regulatory compliance in such areas as product approval, licensing, quality control, GMP certification, pricing. She also counsel pharmaceutical and medical product companies on business structuring, supports marketing campaigns and product launches, assists with development or refinement of their corporate policies and procedures and participation in public procurements. Viktoriya obtained her Master of International Law degree from Institute of International Relations, Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University.
Arsen Miliutin (Counsel, Kyiv) leads a team of lawyers when presenting clients in commercial, administrative and general courts. Arsen has considerable experience in legal procedure, commercial, civil law, in areas of bankruptcy and debt recovery, tax disputes, trading companies’ activities, case-law of European Court of human rights, cases involving international participants. Arsen obtained degrees of Specialist in Law and Master of Economics from the National Academy of Management.
Oleksandr Maydanyk (Counsel, Kyiv) specializes in advising clients on investment taxation, including jurisdiction election and restructuring of acquired companies. Oleksandr has extensive experience in conducting tax due diligences of Ukrainian businesses and providing tax advice on complex transactions for MNCs and leading Ukrainian companies. Oleksandr advises clients on resolving tax disputes in Ukraine. He represents clients in administrative appeal procedures and in courts on tax issues. Oleksandr holds a degree of Jurisprudence from the National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy", he also completed an educational course “International Relations” at Clemson University, USA.
