Irina Stepanova to Speak at the 2nd International Forum of Intellectual Property “Expopriority-2010”
Irina Stepanova, a senior lawyer and head of the intellectual property practice at EPAM, will speak at the 2nd International Forum on Intellectual Property “Expopriority 2010” in Moscow. The event is held by Expocentre and the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and will take place from 7 - 9 December 2010.The 1st International Forum of Intellectual Property “Expopriority 2009” was a great success and was well attended by more than 600 professionals and about 200 agencies, firms, organisations and individual inventors from such countries as Belgium, Hungary, Germany, Jordan, Russia, Ukraine and South Africa. This year, the programme will include special events specifically designed to support innovation and creativity amongst young professionals – the “Future of Russia”.
The Forum will take place under the patronage of ROSPATENT, the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademarks of Russia, and is officially supported by WIPO – the World Intellectual Property Organization. The Forum will also include an International Congress on Intellectual Property and the International Exhibition of Innovation in response to the national priorities for modernising the economy.
The event will also be attended by regional and international specialized organizations and national patent offices, International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), Licensing Executives Society (LES), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), All-Russian Society of Inventors and Development Engineers (VOIR), as well as federal ministries and departments, major Russian and foreign companies and financial institutions.
The Trade Mark Conference will also be held as part of the event and will take place on 8 December 2010. Representatives of governmental intellectual property organisations, leading law firm advisors and patent attorneys will discuss the particulars of using the terms related to intellectual property, specifics of trade mark protection in Russia and abroad, how franchise agreements are regulated in the Russian law and other topics. Irina Stepanova will present a paper on “Franchise Agreement and Related Agreements: Application in Russian Practice”.
