Victoria Burkovskaya Appointed to Co-Chair the Business Against Corruption Center of Public Procedures

Victoria Burkovskaya, PhD, professor, partner of EPAM has been appointed as Co-Chair of the Business against Corruption Center of Public Procedures.

The Business against Corruption Center of Public Procedures was established by Delovaya Rossiya to handle specific complaints of entrepreneurs: it works to provide a peer review as to the presence of corruption or raider components in dealings,  and to produce an expert opinion.

As the Co-Chair of the Center, Victoria will be engaged in addressing of entrepreneur complaints, monitoring of the business environment, suggesting legislative proposals meant to improve the said environment, as well as contributing to the creation of information resources.

Victoria is a prominent expert in the field of criminal law, focusing on the legal aspects of business crimes, criminal proceedings and compliance with anti-corruption legislation She is recommended by the Chambers Europe directory.

Victoria is involved in the reform of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. She is a member of the working group “Criminal Law and Arbitration” of the International Chamber of Commerce (Paris). She is a member of the Moscow Bar Association.

Victoria graduated from Moscow State Law Academy. She also completed graduate studies at the Research Centre of Enhancement of Rule of Law and Public Order of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation and was awarded a Doctor of Laws degree at the Management Academy of the Russian Internal Affairs Ministry. She is a professorat the Criminal Law, Criminal Proceedings and Forensics Department at the Russian Ministry of External Affair’s Moscow State University of Internal Affairs.
